Interior designer and decorator Kyle Timothy Blood is known for his serene and inviting residential schemes that are rich in layers-combining classic pieces with contemporary lines that impart an understated and timeless elegance. Kyle often describes his way of working as: “My job is to facilitate the client’s vision, whether he or she knows what that is. Together we embark upon on a design journey, which is most often an organic process. At the beginning of the job, I check my ego at the door, because this is a client’s house, not a Kyle Timothy Home house. And, hopefully, when I leave, the client’s new house will feel like they’ve always lived there.”

His design approach is tailored to each client, whether he or she wants a sophisticated urban aesthetic or a family-focused one that is certain to transcend time. Regardless of the design style, and Kyle is well versed in many, he believes that a successful space relies upon a balance and harmony of proportion, pattern, texture, color and scale. Further, Kyle believes that any scheme will succeed only when every person and every object has a place to go, to rest, to live.

Kyle is particularly known for his kitchen and bathroom designs, not only for spatial flow, utilitarian ease and functionality but also for his knowledge of current and durable industry products. Notably, a Moroccan-themed bathroom was named House Beautiful's "Bathroom of the Month." (See under "Published.")

Kyle combines his creativity with his organizational skills and his business acumen for the benefit of each and every client—helping to create reasonable interior-design budgets and timelines. Over his nearly twenty years’ experience in the industry, Kyle has collaborated with many architects and builders on both minor and extensive renovations as well as small and significant new builds.

In 2004, Kyle launched his independent design firm, Kyle Timothy Home in Manhattan, after a career in publishing at Forbes, Country Living, and Martha Stewart Living Omnimedia, where he was involved in editing, branding and product-development management. He also worked as a junior interior designer at Charles Klein, Inc. He graduated cum laude from Dartmouth College in French and Art History and then taught in Paris on a Fulbright scholarship. When Kyle turned his attention to his passion for design, he studied at the New York School of Interior Design and was later accepted into the Master of Architecture Program at Southern California Institute of Architecture (SCIArc).

Cottages and Gardens Publications (HC&G) named him the Design Director for its 2008 Hamptons Idea House. In addition to being published often in HC&G, Kyle's work has appeared in House Beautiful, Boston Home, Cape Cod Magazine, East Coast Home & Design, Cape Cod magazine, East Coast Home & Design, and Canadian House & Home.

Kyle Timothy Home is a boutique Interior Design and Decorating firm based in Manhattan and Prince Edward Island with projects in New York City, Westchester County (NY), The Hamptons (NY), Connecticut, Cape Cod (MA), The Great Lakes Region, and Atlantic Canada.
